Lengwani Mavhunga & Munyaradzi Mafararikwa have been hospitalized at Parirenyatwa Hospital in Harare after they were assaulted while in police detention while Mavhunga’s face was sprayed with a white substance while in detention.
A court today ordered an investigation into the torture of MDC Alliance activists Lengwani Mavhunga and Munyaradzi Mafararikwa by police while in custody. The duo’s bail hearing was conducted at Parirenyatwa hospital where they are admitted. Ruling on Tuesday, per ZLHR.
When the U.S. government released a damning report on rampant human rights violations & extended sanctions on President Mnangagwa & his inner circle last month, Harare said there were no such abuses. And when Amnesty released its own assessment alleging the same they said, liars!
