CONFUSION CONCERNING COMMUTING LEGISLATION.
THERE was significant confusion yesterday over the government’s exact position on who is eligible to enter urban central business districts without travel exemption letters, with police saying they were still consulting on the issue.
However, Information permanent secretary Nick Mangwana, made a valiant attempt to clear the muddle last night telling the Daily News that the need for exemption letters only applied after the close of normal business at 3.30pm.
“People can go into town to do whatever business they can up to 3:30pm. From that time onward people must be on their way home and by 6:30pm they must be indoors because the curfew kicks in.” Daily News
