PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has given the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (Zacc) an ultimatum to recover all externalised funds and assets, while also urging the Justice ministry to speed up the amendment of the Whistleblower and Protection Act.
Speaking at yesterday’s launch of the Zacc Strategic Plan to 2024, which coincided with the African Anti-Corruption Day, Mnangagwa said Zacc needed to intensify its anti-graft fight.
The Zimbabwe Anti-corruption Commission is exhorted to increase the institution’s capacity to recover ill-gotten wealth through the asset recovery unit.
Collaborating with countries of origin should be increased to ensure the freezing of ill-acquired assets and ensuring repatriation of the stolen or illegally acquired funds.
